10TH ANNIVERSARY: GICF Hails Gbaramatu Monarch, Extol Leadership Qualities
The Gbaramatu Interdenominational Christian Fellowship (GICF) has hailed the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, for his astounding leadership qualities as the revered Monarch marked ten years on the throne on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman, Pastor Samuel T. Ukuli, and Vice Chairman, Apst. (Dr.) Mathias Zion Amaye, and made available to PENGlobal through its Public Relations, Pastor Felix Famutua, the group also praised the Monarch for preaching peace and unity in not only the kingdom, but across the Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta region at large.
The umbrella body of Christians in the riverine kingdom also noted that the last 10 years of Aketekpe's reign has been marked by profound development and growth in the kingdom as the days of internal conflicts have ceased to exist, as well as the era of pollution.
"Your Majesty, we salute you on the occasion of your 10th Coronation Anniversary and commend your astounding leadership qualities that have birthed peace and foster unity among the people, putting an end to internal conflicts.
"During the last one decade our kingdom has recorded significant milestones occasioned by positive developments especially in the areas of security as our communities are now very safe to live in.
"It can also be attributed through your fervent prayers that the establishment, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, came to limelight, an organisation that has done marvelously well in ending incessant pollution and ensure that the livelihoods of our people through the occupation of fishing is sustained," the statement added.
The GICF also lauded Aketekpe for his support to the Christian Forum especially in its annual Gbaramatu Prayer Day, describing the Pere's role in the success of the programme.
"We also use thus medium to commend His Majesty for the love shown to us, especially in your support of our programmes, particularly the Gbaramatu Annual Prayer Day.
"As a Father to all, you have never discriminated, but rather you have continued to play the fatherly role in joining us in prayers and preaching love to all," the GICF stated.
They prayed that the Almighty God, who made the Pere's reign possible, to protect and bless the Monarch with good health, long life, peace and prosper the royal family.
