2 YEARS IN OFFICE: Otuaro hails Delta Assembly's collective commitment, calls for impactful legislation

The immediate-past deputy governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dcn. Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has hailed the Delta State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, for its collective commitment "in sustaining the legislative arm as a vital pillar of democracy, and in upholding the responsibilities of lawmaking, representation, and oversight."
The deputy governor's commendation is contained in a congratulatory message he issued on the second anniversary of the Delta State 8th House of Assembly on Friday, June 13, 2025.
In his commendation to the Speaker Rt. Hon. Guwor and to all honourable members of the 8th Assembly, Otuaro described the second anniversary as "a significant moment" for not only the lawmakers but for Deltans whose mandate the lawmakers carry.
The former deputy governor tasked the law makers as they continue in their legislative journey to focus on making laws that will impact on the lives of the people.
"As you reflect on the achievements of the past two years, I urge you to deepen and continue to focus on impactful legislation—laws that will continue to address the real issues facing our people.
"I also encourage the House to remain united, people-focused, and guided by the values of integrity, transparency, and service," he added.
He therefore prayed for continued collaboration between the assembly and the executive towards meeting with the expectations of Deltans to good governance.
"May the Assembly continue to work in synergy with the executive and judiciary to strengthen governance and uphold the hopes and expectations of Deltans. Congratulations once again," the message concludes.
