A political support group, the Pondi Grassroot Movement (PGM), has endorsed the fourth term ambition of its principal, Rt. Hon. Julius Gbabojor Pondi, to represent Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), come the 2027 general elections.

The PGM made the endorsement via a statement the political pressure group released and that was signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Roland Dede, with a copy made available to the media.

Recall that the lawmaker, Hon. Pondi, had declared his interest at a ceremony that held in the headquarters of Burutu council area of Delta State, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to contest in the forthcoming 2027 general elections to once again represent the Constituency.

Speaking on the endorsement, Comrade Dede said the PGM's support of its principal follows Pondi's declaration to represent the Burutu Federal Constituency in the green chambers of the National Assembly.

"We, the Pondi Grassroot Movement, hereby endorse the declaration of our principal, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, to contest in the 2027 general elections for a seat in the House of Reps representing Burutu Federal Constituency.

"We are delighted at his decision and are ready to give him our maximum support because of his antecedents which speak volumes as a leader that has the interest of the people at heart," Comrade Dede stressed.

The Coordinator further stated that the group will mobilise supporters to ensure the victory of its principal, whom they believe is the most suitably qualified candidate that has the capability to ensure effective representation in order to consolidate on its past achievements.

"Our principal, Hon. Julius Pondi, is the most qualified candidate without any iota of doubt in his leadership, as he has demonstrated his zeal to sustain and offer effective representation for the people of Burutu Federal Constituency.

"While we are set to mobilise the people of Burutu to give their massive support to the re-election bid of our principal, we call on the Burutu Federal Constituency to reward Hon. Pondi for his effective representation by voting him in as an honourable member of the House of Reps," he charged.

Hon. Pondi, who first contested and won in the 2015 general elections, was re-elected in the 2019 and in the 2023 general elections. His interest to contest in the 2027 general elections makes it the fourth time the lawmaker will be appearing in the ballot to represent the Constituency, only this time, on the platform of the APC.
