CALL TO GLORY: Mrs. Mary Olaye goes home to rest in Okerenkoko April 24, Service of Songs holds April 21
The death has been announced of Mrs. Mary Olaye nee Dekawei, a native of Diebiri and Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, whose body will be laid to rest in her hometown, Okerenkoko Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, on Friday, April 24, 2026.
In a notice announcing the burial arrangements that was signed by Apst. Dio Dekawei for the family, and Mr. Believe Olaye for the children, the late Mrs. Olaye passed away at the age of 75 years in Capitol Hill Hospital after a brief illness on December 23, 2025.
According to the burial arrangements, a Service of Songs ceremony will hold at the Transformation Zion City, No. 34 Ekete Waterside Road in Udu council area by 3pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Her body will leave Veenell Mortuary to her hometown, Okerenkoko, Bibopere Zion, for a Christian funeral service and a social wake-keep ceremony, with music supplied by Prince Small Royal Int'l Band of Africa, on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The family invites the general public to join them in honouring the memory of their beloved mother and grandmother as they pay their last respect.
The late Mrs. Olaye hails from the families of Apostle Emmanuel Olusor Dekawei Tameh of Diebiri Kingdom and Okerenkoko Community, and from Igbepow Akpeyin Oluba of Okerenkoko Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, both in Warri South-West LGA of Delta State.
She is survived by seven children and 21 grandchildren. May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.
