DELTA: Burutu communities commend Governor over road projects approval
Residents of Burutu Local Government Area in Delta State have expressed appreciation to the Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, following the approval of major road infrastructure projects in the area by the Delta State Executive Council (EXCO).
The commendation was made in an appreciation message issued by Comrade Shedrack Agediga, Chairman of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, on March 14, 2026.
In the statement, Agediga conveyed the gratitude of the people of Burutu to the governor and members of the State Executive Council for approving the construction of key road projects aimed at improving connectivity and development in the riverine communities.
According to the statement, the projects align with the administration’s MORE Agenda, which focuses on extensive infrastructural development across the state, including riverine areas that often face transportation challenges.
"This visionary decision by your administration is a testament to your undiluting commitment to the ‘MORE Agenda’ of massive infrastructural development, even in the riverine terrains of Delta State.
"These projects will not only ease transportation challenges but also unlock economic potentials, boost commerce, improve access to essential services, and enhance the overall quality of life for our communities," Agediga added.
The approved road projects, which altogether cover a total of 15,663 meters and are expected to improve transportation, stimulate economic activities, boost commerce, and enhance access to essential services for residents in the affected communities, include the construction of 2,450 meters of internal roads in Odimodi community, 3,750 meters of internal roads in Ogulagha community, and construction of the Torugbene–Ojobo road with a spur to Ojobo Town (Section 2) measuring 9,463 meters.
Agediga noted that the approvals have renewed hope among the people of Burutu LGA and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to equitable development across Delta State.
He also assured the governor of the continued support and prayers of the people for the successful completion of the projects and the progress of the administration.
"We pledge our continued support and prayers for the success of these projects and your visionary leadership. Thank you once again for prioritizing the needs of Burutu LGA," he added.
