EDUCATION: EBF demonstrates peace is 'gainful' with visits to schools in Aladja, Ogbe-Ijoh | commits to academic excellence

In a move to demonstrate that peace is more gainful than conflicts, the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF), in the first phase of its Street 2 School Legacy Project, has visited six schools to give out free learning materials to pupils and students of both Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh, two warring communities formerly plagued by crisis in the Udu and the Warri South-West local government areas of Delta State.
The schools that were visited are Ewvirhe Primary School, Model Primary School, Epame Primary School, and Ayama Primary School, all in Aladja Town; and Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, and Ewein Nursery and Primary School, both in Ogbe-Ijoh, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
In a statement issued by the Founder, Dcn. Ernest Bebenimibo, who is also the SSA to the Delta State Governor on Security, stated that, "The outreach was aimed at supporting and motivating students and pupils with essential educational materials as they resume the new academic session, while also encouraging learning and reducing barriers to education."
The school visit was marked with the distribution of educational learning materials to pupils and students of the schools visited, and with a message of hope to them by the founder, Dcn. Ernest, and his wife, Mrs. Loveth Bebenimibo.
Among the items distributed are branded 500 school bags, 15000 branded note books500 branded mathematical sets, writing materials consisting of pencils, biros, erasers, and sharpeners. In all, a total of roughly 3000 students benefitted.
"These provisions were made to ensure that over 3000 pupils are equipped with the necessary tools for effective learning," he added.
Reacting to the development, in one of the schools visited, Mrs Joyce Onomehebor, a Head Teacher of Aladja Model Primary School, said, "We are happy as the EBF has put smiles on the faces of not only the pupils and students, but on the faces of teachers and the community as a whole," and also stated that such acts will go a long way to motivate pupils and students to not only learn, but to cultivate the habit to give back to society.
She thanked the Founder and the EBF team for taking it upon themselves to alleviate the challenges of learning facing pupils and students, and prayed God to bless the Foundation.
The EBF Founder further disclosed that the organisation from observations during the visits identified areas of needs of some pupils and students, which he pledged to address subsequently in other visits.
"During the outreach, the Foundation identified peculiar cases of students who lacked school uniforms and school shoes. The Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation has committed to providing these essential needs to further support such students and enhance their sense of belonging in the school environment," he disclosed.
Tne EBF visit has once again brought to the fore the need for synergy by communities and the place for dialogue where there are disagreements in order to foster peaceful coexistence. Such gains experienced by pupils and students of Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh would not have been possible in the absence of peace.
