The Comrade Wazo Oyinkuro Zikurebai-led Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Gbaramatu Clan in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced the commencement of the second edition of its Supplementary Educational Support Scheme (SESS) that is aimed at giving support to the educational aspirations of youths in the kingdom.

This is contained in an official statement released by the youth body to PENGlobal on Wenesday, Janary 21, 2026, and signed by its Information Officer, Comrade Ari Ebimotimi.

The scholarship scheme which covers the registration fees for all prospective JAMB candidates and an additional scholarship award of ₦50,000 for the top 10 highest scorers in the examination, is strictly for students of Gbaramatu Kingdom descent. 

The youth body urged all qualified students in Gbaramatu Kingdom to apply for the scheme geared at recognising and encouraging academic excellence among youths.

"Dear Members of our Illustrious Kingdom,

"Ahead of the commencement of the 2026/2027 JAMB registration, on January 26th, 2026, the Ijaw Youth Council, Gbaramatu Clan is pleased to announce the second edition of its Supplementary Educational Support Scheme (SESS), an initiative dedicated to supporting the educational aspirations of our youth.

"Similar to the first edition, this year's program will cover the registration fees for all prospective JAMB candidates within the Kingdom, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede their pursuit of higher education.

"Additionally, a scholarship award of ₦50,000 will be awarded to the ten highest scorers in the JAMB examination. This initiative recognises and encourages academic excellence among our youth.

"As Council, education remains a primary focus of our administration, therefore, this scheme once again demonstrates our dedication to education which is a powerful tool for empowerment and community development.
