EDUCATION: Tebujor/Okpele-Ama hails Tompolo on revitalising learning in Gbaramatu schools

Tebujor/Okpele-Ama community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has hailed the founder of the Tompolo Foundation, High Chief (Dr.) Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, for his educational interventions the community said has "revitalised" the four walls of learning in the community and across the kingdom.

This is contained in a statement released by the chairman of the community, Mr. Lucky Bebenimibo, and released to PENGlobal Community on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

According to Mr. Bebenimibo, Tompolo's funding of teachers in the riverine kingdom has helped put an end to the challenge of lack of teachers that often limit not only learning but led to out-of-school children.

The chairman also noted that the effect of the lack of teachers in the kingdom was not only limited to the present day pupils and students, but would have impacted negatively on future generations due to poor foundational learning.

He said, "The people of Tebujor/Okpele-Ama community are grateful to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo Ph.D (alias Tompolo) and the Tompolo Foundation for the vision of investing in our children through educational development.

"Your collaborative efforts with the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) through the Teachers Recruitment Initiative have not only brought a decisive end to the long-standing challenge of lack of teachers, but also out-of-school children.

"By improving quality of learning you have also laid a better much strong foundation for not only the present generation, but the future generations as well," Mr. Bebenimibo added.

Mr. Bebenimibo also appealed to other leaders to borrow leaf from what Tompolo is doing in collaboration with the Gbaramatu Youths Council (GYC) and join to build a lasting legacies for the future of the Ijaw kingdom.

"I use this medium to call on other leaders in the kingdom to follow in the footsteps of Tompolo's investment in education to secure the future of our children and future generations to come as his intervention stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment to community growth and development through human capital development via education.

"The people of Tebujor / Okpele-Ama community are proud to be beneficiaries of your legacy of service and transformation, as we acknowledges and celebrates your generosity, leadership, and dedication to community development," he added.
