EXCELLENCE: Dubri Timiyan Foundation Doles out ₦500,000 Scholarship to 10 DELSU Beneficiaries, Bags NUIS Award

The Dubri Timiyan Foundation, established by Comrade Doubra Timiyan, has awarded cash gift of Fifty Thousand Naira to each of its Top 10 selected beneficiaries from the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, as part of its scholarship programme, and in recognition of their excellent academic performance as well as active participation in the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students (NUIS).

The cash gifts were presented by the wife of the Founder, Mrs. Queeneth Doubra Timiyan, at the Izon cultural day celebration which held in DELSU, Abraka, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The names of the beneficiaries, their departments and academic level are Pius Powede Delight (Theatre Arts 400L), Bunu Timipre Peace (Marketing and Entrepreneurship 300L), Bowene Romeo Simon (Biology Education 300L), Abulu Esther (Banking and Finance 200L), Akpos Anslem Tamaradenyefa (Business Administration 400L).

Others are Igbide Precious (Political Science Education 300L), Fedode Deborah Ebikonboere (Anatomy 300L), Titus Esther Tariere (Anatomy and Cell Biology 400L), Eneyerin Akpokaemiyeama Amos (Mass Communication and Film 200L), and Cigetti Gift Tamaraghe-Areremi (Marketing and Entrepreneurship 400L).

Presenting the cash gifts to the beneficiaries, Mrs. Timiyan stressed that the grant is a noble gesture from the Foundation which hopes that it will spur other students to put more efforts in their academics as well as propel them to contribute positively to the growth of the Izon Nation and the country at large.

She commended the organisers of the Izon Cultural Day celebration, led by the NUIS DELSU Abraka President, Moses Tamaraubrakemi, for identifying with their roots and for the efforts put in towards promoting the Izon cultural heritage to the world.

Also present at the cultural day celebration which was marked with traditional dance, fashion display, masquerade display, among other cultural activities, is the Commissioner of Bayelsa State Ijaw National Affairs, His Royal Majesty, Barr. Godspower Tam Oporomo, the Tara-Eza I, the Pere of Kerebiri-Mein Kingdom.

The President of NUIS, DELSU chapter in Abraka, Tamaraubrakemi, on behalf of the Izon student body presented an Award of Appreciation to the Founder of the Dubri Timiyan Foundation in recognition of its laudable support to students and in bettering the lives of humanity at large.

Other members of the Foundation tin attendance include Prosper Eguare, Paul Timiyan, Donald Timiyan, Tamaraebi Denkeden, Best Timiyan, Promise Kennedy, Tamaralayefa Idolor, and Okubokekeme Wisdom Felix.

The Dubri Timiyan Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to revolutionizing education and empowering youth in the Niger Delta, particularly in riverine communities, with focus on educational outreach, career mentorship, and student excursions, among others.
