EXCELLENCE: INC Western Zone celebrates Egbekun's LL.M Distinction, hails Otuaro's investment in HCD
The Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, has congratulated Miss Kemien Favor Egbekun, Esq., on her outstanding academic achievement of graduating with a Distinction in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) programme from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, describing her success as a shining example of the excellence and resilience of Ijaw youths.
The INC Western Zone also commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Ph.D., for his unwavering commitment to human capital development across the Niger Delta through strategic investments in education and capacity building.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Barr. Priye Noel Kuete, LL.M., the INC Western Zone said Miss Egbekun's latest accomplishment has brought "immense pride to her family, Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom, the Ijaw Nation, and the Niger Delta region."
According to the group, the legal practitioner had earlier distinguished herself academically by graduating with a First Class Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Michael and Cecilia Ibru University in 2024 before earning sponsorship through the Presidential Amnesty Programme to pursue postgraduate studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The organisation noted that her graduation with Distinction has justified the confidence reposed in her and demonstrated that exceptional talents, when identified and given the necessary support, can compete favourably on the global stage.
While celebrating the academic feat, the INC Western Zone praised Otuaro's leadership of the PAP, saying his administration has continued to identify and empower outstanding young men and women across the Niger Delta without discrimination based on ethnicity, state, clan or political affiliation.
The group stated that Otuaro's sustained investment in education, skills acquisition and human capacity development is laying a solid foundation for lasting peace, sustainable development and economic prosperity in the region.
It further urged Niger Delta people to acknowledge and encourage leaders making measurable impacts, stressing that while constructive criticism remains essential in a democratic society, baseless attacks against public officials delivering tangible results do not advance the collective interest of the region.
The INC also encouraged beneficiaries of the PAP Scholarship Scheme and other educational interventions to emulate Miss Egbekun's dedication, discipline and commitment to academic excellence.
It described scholarships as strategic investments in the future of the Niger Delta, urging recipients to remain focused on their studies and return home to contribute meaningfully to regional development.
The organisation observed that Ijaw sons and daughters are increasingly redefining global perceptions of the ethnic nationality through outstanding accomplishments in law, medicine, science, engineering, technology, public service and other professional fields.
It recalled the recent celebration of Miss Boubini Jones-Wonni's achievement in Medicine and Surgery at Harvard University, noting that Miss Egbekun's success further reinforces the growing reputation of Ijaw youths as globally competitive professionals.
According to the statement, these milestones underscore the fact that the greatest asset of the Niger Delta is not merely its abundant natural resources but its human capital, emphasizing that continued investment in education remains the surest pathway to a brighter future for generations to come.
Congratulating Miss Egbekun, the INC Western Zone described her as an ambassador of excellence and an inspiration to young Ijaw boys and girls, urging her to remain humble, pursue even greater accomplishments and deploy her knowledge and professional expertise in service to humanity, the legal profession, the Ijaw Nation and Nigeria.
The INC Western Zone reaffirmed its confidence that her remarkable achievement would inspire more young people across the Niger Delta to dream big, embrace academic excellence and strive for global relevance.
