FREE LAPTOPS: Maritime students express gratitude to Tinubu, Otuaro | pledge effective use

Students of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Okerenkoko in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, under the aegis of the Presidential Amnesty Beneficiaries of the NMU, have expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, for the remarkable initiative of free laptops distribution, numbering over 800, to the student body.

The profound gratitude is contained in a statement signed on behalf of students of the NMU by Mike James Brubor, a 300 Level Nautical Students and General Youth Secretary of Okerenkoko Federated Community; Paul Showboy Tanto, a 400L Port Management student; Blessing Vote Adagbabiri, a 300L Marine Economics and Finance student; and Leyai Christian Solomon, a 300L Nautical Science student.

The student body noted that the laptops will go a long way to contribute in their academic performance while noting that the PAP Boss laptops distribution initiative is very vital to both social and economic development of students.

The message reads, "The Concern students under the aegis of the Presidential Amnesty Beneficiaries of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) express our gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and to the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro, for the remarkable initiative of distributing over 800 laptops to our student body.

"This initiative will greatly enhance our ability to pursue our educational professional goals. It has  provided essential technological resources, but has also made a profound impact on our academic journey, enabling us to thrive in our studies and future careers.

"‎The sustained commitment of the Presidential Amnesty Program towards empowering students from diverse ethnic backgrounds underscores the vision of inclusivity and education, which is crucial for social and economic development.

"Sir, your generous act of providing laptops resonates deeply with our community, as it directly contributes to alleviating some of the educational challenges we face. ‎Your vision and dedication to empowering youth through education in the Niger Delta region and cutting across all parts of Nigeria have left an indelible mark on our lives," they added.

The NMU students pledged to not take for granted the opportunity presented them, but will positively apply the laptops strategically for the growth of the institution, their communities and the nation at large.

"As we embrace these resources, we pledge to use them responsibly and to the best of our abilities, fostering personal growth and contributing positively to our institution, communities and to the nation at large.
