The Okerenkoko Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced plans for the official installation and pronouncement of Snr. Apst. Pa. Opuede U. Onimiyenmene as the Ibe-Okosuwei of the Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom.

According to an official invitation signed by the community chairman, Chief Mosco Johnny, and the planning committee chairman, Hon. George Ekpemupolo, the historic ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. prompt at the Okerenkoko Community Playground, Okerenkoko.

The installation will be performed under the lordship of His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II, JP, Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere, marking another significant milestone in the preservation of the kingdom's cherished customs, traditions, and leadership heritage.

The Okerenkoko Federated Community stated that the event is expected to attract traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, government officials, religious leaders, youths, women groups, and distinguished guests from across Gbaramatu Kingdom and beyond to witness the formal recognition of the revered elder.

The community described the installation as a celebration of honour, longevity, wisdom, and selfless service, noting that the office of the Ibe-Okosuwei occupies a revered place in the traditional institution of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The Chairman of Okerenkoko Federated Community, and the Chairman of the Planning Committee, called on members of the public to attend the historic ceremony and celebrate with the community.

The organisers expressed optimism that the event would further strengthen the cultural heritage, unity, and traditional values of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom while wishing continued peace and progress for the kingdom and the reign of His Majesty.

The Ibe-Okosuwei (Oldest Man in the Kingdom) title, which is different from Ama-Okosuwei (Oldest Man in a Community) title, is a revered title of honour bestowed on the aged.
