GBARAMATU: Okerenkoko Youths hail successful ward delineation, commend Tinubu Traditional Institution, Stakeholders
The youths of Okerenkoko Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, have expressed profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, traditional institutions, government agencies, and all stakeholders for the successful implementation of the ward delineation exercise in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Saturday, July 18, 2026, the youths described the successful implementation of the ward delineation as a historic milestone that would "deepen democracy, promote political inclusion, guarantee equitable representation, and accelerate socio-economic development across Gbaramatu Kingdom."
According to the statement, the achievement was made possible through collective sacrifice, perseverance, unity, and visionary leadership demonstrated by individuals and groups committed to the progress of the kingdom.
The group commended President Tinubu and the Federal Government for their commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting fairness, and creating an enabling environment that facilitated the successful implementation of the ward delineation exercise.
They also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), relevant government institutions, security agencies, and public officials for conducting the exercise peacefully, transparently, and in accordance with the law, noting that their professionalism and dedication enhanced public confidence in the process.
The youths reserved special appreciation for the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, describing his fatherly leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to peace and unity as instrumental to the successful outcome of the exercise.
They equally acknowledged the contributions of traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, and members of the various councils in Gbaramatu Kingdom for providing guidance, mediation, and prayers that ensured the kingdom's collective interest remained paramount throughout the process.
The statement further recognized the immense sacrifices made by community leaders, political leaders, professionals, and other patriotic sons and daughters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, who committed their time, expertise, financial resources, and logistics toward the realization of the exercise without seeking personal gain, as well as expressed gratitude to individuals and groups who provided financial support, describing their generosity as a lasting investment in the future of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Commending the leadership of the Gbaramatu Kingdom Youth Council, the statement praised the Youth President and the entire youth leadership for their maturity, discipline, peaceful mobilisation, and commitment to constructive engagement throughout the exercise, as well as applauded their counterparts across the kingdom for demonstrating patience, unity, and respect for lawful processes, noting that their peaceful conduct significantly contributed to the credibility and success of the exercise.
They also paid glowing tribute to the women of Gbaramatu Kingdom for their prayers, encouragement, moral support, and active participation, describing them as indispensable partners in the kingdom's development.
The statement additionally appreciated community associations, religious leaders, civil society organisations, opinion leaders, volunteers, media practitioners, legal advisers, and other well-meaning individuals whose advocacy, consultations, technical expertise, financial support, and prayers contributed to the successful implementation of the ward delineation.
While celebrating the achievement, the youths stressed that ward delineation represents "the beginning of greater opportunities for political participation, inclusive governance, equitable representation, and accelerated development across Gbaramatu Kingdom" and called on all sons and daughters of the kingdom to sustain the spirit of peace, unity, cooperation, and mutual respect that made the exercise successful, urging residents to remain committed to the pursuit of justice, development, and prosperity.
In conclusion, the youths praying for God's continued blessings upon the President, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, traditional rulers, chiefs, stakeholders, youth leaders, women, elders, and every individual whose sacrifice and commitment made the successful implementation of the ward delineation a reality.
Recall that the fresh ward delineation carried out by the INEC in obedience to the Supreme Court judgement across Warri South, Warri South-West, and Warri North making up the Warri Federal Constituency was finally concluded after series of agitations by the three ethnic groups of Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo demanding fairness, justice, and equity in the process.
