INAUGURATION: Hon. Ejoh leads Pepe-ama Exco as stakeholders give counsel

The people of Pepe-ama Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has successfully inaugurated a new set of Executive Council led by Hon. Ejoh Christopher to pilot the affairs of the riverine oil-rich community.

The inauguration ceremony held in the playground of the community and was attended by stakeholders comprising elders, chiefs, women, youths among other invited guests, on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Other member's of the Hon. Ejoh-led exco are Hon. Elvis Michael Atamba (Secretary), Mr. Godday Votuwei (Public Relations Officer), Mr. Hebrew Wuruyai (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Godstime Igelemo (Financial Secretary), Sister Endurance Oyovwe (Treasurer), and Mr. Paul Akiefa (Organising Secretary).

Highpoints of the ceremony was the administering of oath of office on the elected exco members and the handing over of official documents of the community by the outgoing exco chaired by Mr. Davis Mafi Awologbi.

Speaking on behalf of stakeholders, an opinion leader, Chief Hon. Franklin Ejoh, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of the community while describing the inauguration ceremony as a "significant milestone in the history of our great community".

The opinion leader tasked the newly-sworn in executives to place the interest of the community foremost in demonstration of service, promote peace, look out for the welfare of the people, and run an open door policy.

He said, "Leadership is a sacred responsibility that demands honesty, transparency, unity, and selfless service. As you assume office, I encourage you to place the collective interest of the community above personal considerations. Let your administration promote peace, development, inclusion, and the welfare of all residents of Pepe-Ama.

"To Comrade Christopher Ejoh and your team, I urge you to work closely with the elders, youths, women, and stakeholders to strengthen the bonds of unity within our community. Listen to the voices of the people, embrace constructive ideas, and remain committed to accountability and good governance," he added.

Chief Ejoh commended the Mr. Awologbi and his outgone exco for their positive contributions to the growth and development of the community, and appealed on all stakeholders to join hands with the current exco to achieve the prosperity of the community.

"I also wish to sincerely appreciate the outgoing executives for their service, sacrifices, and contributions to the growth and stability of Pepe-Ama Federated Community. Your efforts, dedication, and commitment during your tenure have laid a foundation upon which the new administration can build. We thank you for your service and wish you success in your future endeavors.

"As members of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, let us continue to uphold our cherished values, preserve our cultural heritage, and work together for sustainable progress and prosperity," he charged.

The chairman, on behalf of his exco members, thanked the people for the confidence imposed on them to lead and promised to not disappoint their expectations.
