The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Gbaramatu Clan, in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Zikurebai Oyinkuro Wazo, has reiterated its promise to gift scholarship awards to the 10 highest-scoring candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The national youth body in Gbaramatu Kingdom made its position known in a statement issued by its Information Officer, Comrade Ari Ebitimi, and made available to PENGlobal Community on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

"The Council wishes to reaffirm its commitment to academic excellence by reiterating that the scholarship awards designated for the ten highest-scoring candidates remain fully in place and we look forward with great anticipation to rewarding the winners," the statement reads in part.

The IYC Gbaramatu Clan also convey its best wishes of success to the "JAMB students registered under its Supplementary Education Support Scheme, as the examinations commence tomorrow."

The youth further stated that it hopes the promise of its scholarship awards will motivate the candidates from the Gbaramatu axis to put in more efforts to emerge as winners, just as it wishes a safe journey to those sitting in the JAMB UTME in other states.

"We implore all candidates to derive additional strength and motivation from this incentive, as we hope all our students will excel and beat the general capped mark.

"Furthermore, for those candidates who will be travelling beyond the state and the Gbaramatu environs to sit for their examinations, we pray for journey mercies.

"We wish you all success in this examination and in all your future academic endeavours," the IYC Gbaramatu Clan added.

The 2026 UTME organised by JAMB is scheduled to hold across the Nigerian Federation at JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026,
