KOKODIAGBENE: KYDM Youth President Laide renounces eleco, gives reason
The President of Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM) in Kokodiagbene Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Comrade Blessing Laide A.K.A Egbengben, has renounced the Electoral Committee of the youth body earlier constituted to conduct election of a new set of executives ahead of his tenure's handover date in November 2026.
Comrade Laide made the disclosure in a statement issued by the youth body, with a copy sent to PENGlobal Community.
According to the KYDM President, the setting up of an Electoral Committee is a constitutional matter, and in line with the KYDM Constitution certain lapses were discovered which had to be corrected.
Part of the statement reads, "The Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM) led by its President, Comrade Blessing Laide hereby notified the general public that the Electoral Committee earlier set up at a General Meeting in the community town hall on Saturday, March 14, 2026, should be disregarded.
"We are therefore urging the elders, women and youths to disregard that committee while the youth body will take necessary steps to setup another committee in adherence to the stipulation of the KYDM Constitution.
“We therefore plead for the understanding and support of the youths and other stakeholders of this formidable body as we all build it and make it great,” the statement added.
It would be recalled that the KYDM had earlier set in motion plans for the youth body to elect a new set of executive leadership by constituting an Electoral Committee chaired by Comrade Superior Adurumokumo, with Comrade Bako Igere as Secretary, while Comrade Happy Evene and Comrade Esther David as members.
By the notice, the previously announced KYDM Eleco members are no longer valid.
