KYDM 2026: Comrade Owilly Declares for Vice President, Unveils Agenda for Unity, Youth Empowerment
Comrade Aaron Herry Owilly, an aspirant for the position of Vice President of the Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM), has officially declared his ambition to contest in the forthcoming election, unveiling a four-point agenda aimed at fostering unity, empowering youths, strengthening leadership capacity and driving community development.
Speaking on his aspiration, Comrade Owilly said his campaign is anchored on the slogan, "Together for a Stronger KYDM," which reflects his commitment to building a more united, progressive and inclusive youth movement in oil-rich Kokodiagbene Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The vice-presidential hopeful from Ebiabu Quarter stated that, in collaboration with the President, his first mandate, Unity and Inclusion, is focused on promoting peace, harmony and inclusiveness among all members of KYDM, irrespective of background or affiliation.
According to the Vice President hopeful, unity remains the foundation for sustainable growth, stressing that every member deserves a voice and equal opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the movement.
On Youth Empowerment, Comrade Owilly pledged to champion skills acquisition programmes and entrepreneurship initiatives that would equip young people with practical knowledge, encourage self-reliance and create opportunities for economic growth.
He further disclosed that his administration would prioritise Capacity Building by promoting leadership development, mentorship and training programmes designed to prepare young people for greater responsibilities within and beyond the community.
The aspirant also outlined Development Initiatives as a key pillar of his agenda, promising to work with the President and other executive members to champion projects that promote education, healthcare, environmental sustainability and community development.
Comrade Issues noted that the Vice President's office should serve as a platform for collaboration, innovation and service, adding that he would remain accessible to members while supporting programmes that improve the welfare and participation of youths in the movement.
"I believe that together we can build a stronger KYDM founded on unity, inclusion and shared prosperity. My commitment is to serve with dedication, empower our youths, strengthen leadership capacity and support initiatives that will positively impact our community," he said.
He appealed to delegates and members of the KYDM to support his aspiration and entrust him with the mandate to serve as Vice President, assuring them of a leadership driven by integrity, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to the collective progress of Kokodiagbene youths.
