KYDM 2026: Doutimi, Other 8 Candidates Emerge Victorious In Kokodiagbene Youth Election

Comrade Doutimi Prince Cousin has emerged "unopposed" as President of the Kokodiagbene Youth Development Movement (KYDM), the youth arm of oil-rich Kokodiagbene Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Comrade Doutimi was declared winner alongside eight other candidates by the Comrade Superior Adurumokumor-led KYDM Electoral Committee after the conclusion of elections in the community Town Hall on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

According to the ELECO Chairman, a total of 30 delegates with 10 selected from each of the three quarters of Kokodiagbene Community (Ebiabu, Agugu, and Ugeh) participated in the voting process in the election stakeholders adjudge as free, fair and transparent.

The results of the election was announced in the Town Hall by the current KYDM President, Comrade Blessing Laide, who had earlier, before the start of the election, appealed to stakeholders to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.

Comrade, Oweipade Eyebo emerged as Vice President after he polled 16 votes to defeat fellow contenders: Gideon Okoromadu who polled 13 votes and Henry Aaron who polled a single vote; while Comrade Theresa Tolar emerged as Secretary with 11 votes over Felix Akoto who polled 10 votes, and Felix Bekenawei who polled 9 votes.

Comrade Etuemi Emiko was declared winner as Public Relations Officer with a score of 18 votes over fellow contender Diamond Howei who polled 12 votes after a second round of voting to break a tie in the earlier voting process. The same situation occured for the Financial Secretary position with Christabell Eguare declared winner after she polled 13 votes over Princess Ukuli who polled 12 votes.

Deborah Torudon emerged as Treasurer with 17 votes over Felicia Laide who polled 13 votes; while Tombra Pito was declared as Provost after he polled 21 votes to defeat Marvelous Igere who polled 9 votes.

Others who were declared winner unopposed are Tare Odigbo as Assistant Secretary position, and Victor Daniel as Assistant Financial Secretary.

Comrade Laide congratulated the winners and commended stakeholders of the youth body for their display of maturity during the smooth process.

"Everyone is a winner. I urge the incoming KYDM executives to do more than we achieved during my tenure as President," Comrade Liade said during his brief congratulatory speech.

A major highlght of the elecion was the presentation of Certificate of Return to the newly elected KYDM executives by the ELECO Chairman.

It was further disclosed that the new KYDM exco will be inaugurated into office on November 14, 2026, to pilot the affairs of the youth body.
