ONDO: Tantita Has Come to Stay — INC Western Zone Chairman Barr. Kuete
The Chairman of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, Barr. Priye Noel Kuete, LLM., has declared that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) will continue its operations across the Niger Delta, including Ondo State.
Barr. Kuete made this known over the weekend in Akure while attending a private event, where he fielded questions from journalists on developments in the Niger Delta and the recent calls by some youths in Ikale, in Okitipupa LGA of Ondo State, demanding the relocation of Tantita’s office in Ondo State.
Speaking with the press, he dismissed the calls for relocation, describing them as distractions aimed at undermining the efforts of Tantita in combating illegal bunkering activities.
He also said it was an affront on Fundamental Human Rights to own business, and stated that the provisions of CAMA 2020 are clear; a company can have it's branch office or headquarters situated at any state in the Country.
According to him, Tantita is a duly registered security outfit with a clear mandate to support the fight against crude oil theft and related crimes in the region, and that Tantita has been living up to it's mandate in collaboration with other Federal and State security agencies including the Police, Army and Navy.
He noted that although he is yet to hold a formal meeting with the Ondo State Head of Operations, Mr. Idowu Asonja, he understands the scope and intent of Tantita’s operations under the leadership of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo).

Barr. Kuete stressed that the location of Tantita’s operational office should not generate controversy, pointing out that Okitipupa falls within the coastal axis of Ondo State.
He further advised that individuals or groups who feel aggrieved by the conduct of Tantita personnel should seek redress through appropriate and lawful channels.
He explained that any established case of misconduct would attract disciplinary measures in line with existing operational guidelines.
The INC Western Zone Chairman also described Tantita’s operations as result-driven since inception and called for the expansion of its activities in Ondo State to enhance youth inclusion and curb youth restiveness.
Barr. Kuete also referenced recent reports alleging the involvement of an aide to Asonja who was dismissed on account of making cover for illegal bunkering activities, noting that the individual dismissal was apt.
He commended the prompt action taken, describing it as a demonstration of accountability and commitment to the core objectives of the security outfit.
The engagement ended with Barr. Kuete, reiterating his support for Tantita’s continued presence in Ondo State and the wider Niger Delta.
He urged people and communities within the Niger Delta and Ondo state in particular to cooperate with the outfit as he emphasized its relevance to regional security and the protection of national economic assets.
