SCHOLARSHIP: IYC Gbaramatu to hold mandatory engagement session with applicants January 24
The Comrade Wazo Oyinkuro Zikurebai-led Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Gbaramatu Clan, will be holding a mandatory in-person engagement session with all registered and interested applicants of its Supplementary Education Support Scheme (SESS) at the defunct Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF) premises along Airport Road (Opposite Union Bank) in Effurun, on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
In an official statement signed by the IYC Gbaramatu Clan Information Officer, Ari Ebimotimi, the engagement session with applicants, who are youths of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, will begin 10:00am.
According to the IYC Gbaramatu Clan, the engagement session "aims to provide a preparatory briefing on the scheme, offer guidance on selecting institutions and courses, review the necessary documentation, and address any questions from prospective applicants."
The youth body in Gbaramatu Kingdom also disclosed that following its launch of its official website for the SESS, the response for the second edition was impressive as the scheme recorded in less than 24 hours over 100 applications for the JAMB scholarship.
"The Council can confirm that over 200 students completed registration within the first 24 hours, and approximately 50 applications are currently under review, which is more than 50% for this year’s threshold," the statement reads.
The youth body called on applicants and those interested to attend the engagement session
"Given the above-mentioned, your attendance is essential and the Council is looking forward to a productive engagement. For further inquiries, please call us at: 08134076139 or +2347033918065."
