WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: Gbaramatu Heavy Duties Plant Operators thanks Aketekpe, other stakeholders
The Gbaramatu Kingdom Heavy Duties Plant Operators Association Worldwide (GKHDPOAW) has expressed its gratitude to the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, other stakeholders in the kingdom and in the Warri Federal Constituency of Delta State for their sacrifices, efforts, and commitment towards emancipating the Ijaw people in the constituency from what it referred to as "slavery and political marginalization".
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Senior Comrade Happy Evene, on Monday (June 22, 2026), the Association stated that by their actions they have given hope to not only the present generation, but those yet to come.
The GKHDPOAW further stated that the actions of leaders is an inspiration on them as they will not take for granted such sacrifices but it will propel them to join forces in collaboration with leaders in the kingdom to play their part, especially in ensuring that opportunities exist for members so that everyone can contribute their quota to the kingdom advancement.
The message reads: "On behalf of the entire professional body of the Gbaramatu Kingdom Heavy Duties Plant Operators Association Worldwide (GKHDPOAW), led by its Chairman, Senr. Comr. Happy A. Evene, we want to wholeheartedly appreciate some notable, visionary, vibrant, eloquent and living heroes in Gbaramatu Kingdom and in Ijaw Nation.
"These visionary leaders, with their unwavering commitment, towards putting an end to the slavery and political marginalization that we, the Ijaws, have been facing in Warri Federal Constituency for ages. Your resilience and sacrifice have shaped our lives, and even the lives of our unborn children.
"There's a simple saying in Ijaw language, which is 'Doh'. Whatsoever good one does, 'Doh' is very rich and important to the ijaw Nation. We are still saying 'Doh' to our leaders for the liberation.
"May the Almighty God and the gods of our land continue to protect and keep you all healthy in all ramifications, to enjoy this uncommon sacrifice.
"To our Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, thank you for your prayers and sacrifices for the good and growth of the Kingdom and the Ijaw Nation.
"Also, to Father Igologolo, Odokorikodo, Opoueferikrikpon, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo; Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, Hon. George Timinimi, and so many other leaders in the kingdom, may you all live long and dwell in safety.
"You all remain a shining light and example worth emulating. By the special grace of the Almighty God, with your support, we will join hands with other leaders in collaboration to build our kingdom and take it to the zenith," it concludes.
