Debt is suffocating, killing me slowly – PoS agent in Kunukunuama cries out, appeals for financial aid

A Point of Sales (PoS) operator who goes by the name of Ebikeseye David Ebielade in Kunukunuama Federated Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West council area of Delta State, has emotionally cried out for help over the huge insurmountable debts running into millions of naira that he said is "gradually killing him slowly."
Ebikeseye, who runs a PoS business named Robinson and Davidson Integrity Services in Kunukunuama for the past four years, made the public outcry and financial appeal on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
According to the entrepreneur, who claimed that he started the business with the sum of N150,000k and that the business gradually grew with three PoS machines, revealed that at the peak of his success he became a center for deposit of funds from private individuals and associations in return for a small interest.
"Because of the trust, people were seeing me as a good businessman. And so, many people entrusted their funds in my hand and i was keeping everything safely for them. I had three PoS machines," he recalled.
However, his over zealousness led to the abandoning of book-keeping practice he earlier had been maintaining, arising from what he attributed to stress and expansion as the business grew.
"I do keep record every day, but at the time, I was tired and I was the only one that was doing the business. I use to say that, 'How can money be missing from me when I'm the only one doing the business? Will somebody come to my bag and collect money from me?' My brother was always warning me that it's no good that you are not balancing your account. I said, 'Forget it, who wants to take my money from inside my bag now?'" he admitted his shortcomings.
The 35 year old entrepreneur lamented that his fortunes took a turn for the worse in December 2024 when it dawned on him that he was losing money that were unaccounted for, and in his attempt to reduce pressure from creditors forced him to resort to borrow money from loan apps and other financial institutions at the cost of high interest rates.
"So, towards the end of the year, I was trying to check myself to know how much I have made. But I found out that a lot of my money was not correct. I started checking all my machines. I checked everywhere, I could not find them.
"In a bid to gather those money, I applied to the loan app to collect money and that when I worked towards the end of the month, the money would be able to reach the one I collected. It made me to be adding more debt to meet up with obligations. I collected some from the bank and the debt and interest kept increasing," he lamented.
While telling his stories in tears, he revealed that his debts have grown to N8 million and counting due to the accumulation of debts and interests which kept multiplying as a result of his inability to meet up with paying and servicing them.
"The debt is N8 million plus because of the increase. Presently, Opay now is increasing, almost N938,000k. I initially wanted to use the money to do ATM. I used to open account when I go to Warri and collect ATM to give people. But I said that it is better I buy laptop to do virtual registration so that when I open account for the person they can also give me agent card so that I will now do the work directly from here, be giving card without frequently going to Warri, so that my business can grow more," he explained.
Ebikeseye, who said he was once a teacher in the primary school at Kunukunuama community, said he had tried on his own to sort out the debts, but to no avail. He further revealed his attempts to run away as he could no longer withstand the insults and threats from creditors, and that even his mother whom he takes care of is "down with high blood pressure after her several failed attempts to assist me in seeking out help, even by traveling to Burutu council to appeal for intervention to no avail," he lamented amidst tears.
Making his appeal for assistance he said, "I am appealing to my fellow fathers and leaders in Gbaramatu Kingdom to please show mercy and help me out of this ugly situation. I've suffered so much and it's giving me sleepless nights. Please help to save a life by coming to my rescue. I've learnt my lessons and I don't want to end up like this. I'm on my knees begging for intervention," his voice cracked.
