The Godfrey Tare Pondi Educational Foundation, established by Chief Godfrey Tare Pondi, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced a major educational intervention project for Kurutie Federated Community in the kingdom.

According to an official statement titled 'Powering Education: Lighting the Path to Digital Learning in Kurutie," the Foundation stated that the intervention project is aimed at "transforming learning conditions and advancing the future of education in Kurutie Community." 

Set to hold from Wednesday, May 27, 2026, to Friday, May 29, 2026, the project is part of the commitment of the Foundation to boosting educational development and community empowerment.

The Foundation further revealed that the project will also include the implementation of a "comprehensive school improvement and teachers’ capacity development programme" towards achieving its set objectives.

Among highlights of the programme are the renovation of classrooms, playground and repair of damaged roofs to create safer, more conducive learning environments for students and teachers; provision of structural improvements to enhance the quality of education delivery; organising a teachers’ seminar and capacity development programme designed to equip educators with modern teaching methods, leadership skills, and professional development tools.

Others include the distribution of educational materials, including text books, writing materials, school uniforms, and sandals, to support students and encourage academic excellence; the donation of desktop computers to the school to promote digital literacy and enhance access to technology-based learning opportunities for students and teachers; and the launch of a 6-Month ICT training programme beginning in June 2026, aimed at equipping students and members of the community with essential computer and digital skills for the modern world.
