Pondi, who announced the achievement on his Facebook page on Thursday in a statement titled, “A Journey of Dedication, Now a Milestone of Achievement,” disclosed that he successfully completed and defended his doctoral thesis at the College of Postgraduate Studies, Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences of the prestigious institution.

The Tantita Managing Director described the academic journey as one characterised by hard work, sacrifice, learning and perseverance, noting that there were challenging moments when he had to summon the determination to keep pushing towards his goal.

Expressing gratitude over the successful completion of the programme and the award of a Doctor of Philosophy degree, Pondi said the accomplishment represents a memorable milestone in his life.

“This journey has been one of hard work, sacrifice, learning, perseverance, and, at times, moments when I had to remind myself not to give up. Today, standing at this milestone and receiving the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the prestigious University of Benin is truly a moment I will cherish,” he stated.

The Ibe-Benimowei also expressed appreciation to his supervisors, lecturers and examiners, as well as members of his family, friends, colleagues and others who supported and encouraged him through prayers and other contributions throughout the academic journey.

He particularly attributed the successful completion of the programme to the grace of God, declaring: “Above all, I give all the glory to God, whose grace carried me through.”

Reflecting on what lies ahead after attaining the academic feat, Pondi said the achievement represents not an end but the beginning of another phase in his personal and professional development.

“One chapter has ended, another begins. The journey continues,” he added.
