A youth entrepreneur in Oporoza Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Mr. Kosenen Patrick Torudiwei, has cried out for help from well-meaning individuals after his family were rendered homeless as a result of a fire incident that destroyed his home and properties worth millions of naira.
Mr. Kosenen, in an emotional chat with PENGlobal, disclosed that the fire incident which occurred on the evening of Friday, February 6, 2026, destroyed almost all of his personal properties and left his family in shock.
The victim, who runs a Point of Sale (PoS) business and a sawmill, said he received an emergency call on Friday evening that his home was on fire, but on getting there the fire had spread beyond control.
According to him, the source of the fire remains a mystery especially as he had put in place certain measures such as turning off the power switch whenever he and is family are away from home.
"Even neighbours around saw the smoke, but they thought it was someone burning waste outside. Before they realize that it was a fire, it has gone beyond control," he narrated.
"We don't sleep with candles in the house. Whenever we are leaving the house, we turn off the power control. So, how the fire began is still a mystery to us," he lamented.
He appealed to the general public to come to their rescue as his family and business have been hit hard by the fire incident, with his wife traumatised by the incident.
"We are calling for help. It is only the clothes we are putting on that we now have left as our possession," he lamented.
