Amb. (Dr.) Uyadonghan Powede (JP), the Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), celebrated his Golden Jubilee Birthday Anniversary in oil-rich Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Here are some facts to know about the youth leader who hosted families and friends to his elaborate and colourful celebration in the riverine community, as culled from a brief citation of the celebrant:

1️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede was born on November 15, 1975, to the family of late Mr. Bide and Ebimayeminighan Powede, both of Kokodiagbene Community, but moved to Warri under the custody and tutelage of his uncle, late Abraham Asoh, a disciplinarian and one-time Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Kokodiagbene Community. 

2️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede had his First School Leaving Certificate from Ebiabo Primary School, Kokodiagbene (1986–1992); a West African Examination Council (WAEC) School Certificate from Essi College, Warri (1998); and a Diploma in Law from the Delta State University (DELSU), Oleh Campus (2003–2004).

3️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede officially joined politics and became an active politician with the All Nigerian People's Party (ANPP) in 2004, but later defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) the following year.

4️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede was appointed as the Personal Assistant to the then Honorable Minister for Special Duties, Presidency (2007–2008); and reappointed as a Personal Assistant to the then Honorable Minister, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs where he served meritoriously (2008–2014). 

5️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede proceeded from Abuja to Warri in 2015, where he got another appointment as the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture in Warri South-West LGA, a position he held for six good years.

6️⃣ In 2015, Amb. (Dr.) Powede was admitted into the Delta State University to study Political Science in Education, which he completed successfully with Second Class Upper Division (2.1) honors in Bachelor of Science degree in Education (B.Sc. Ed).

7️⃣ In 2019, Amb. (Dr.) Powede went further to pursue a Master's degree in Political Science from the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, and was awarded a Master's degree  in 2021.

8️⃣ In January 2018, Amb. (Dr.) Powede was unanimously elected as Executive Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community. Lots of human capital and infrastructural developments were recorded in his three-year tenure.

9️⃣ Amb. (Dr.) Powede bagged a Chartered Fellowship Award as an Eminent Peace Ambassador of International Association of World Peace Advocates on 30th August 2024, and was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate degree in Community Leadership by the Myles Leadership University on the 19th July 2025 in the United Kingdom. 

🔟 Amb. (Dr.) Powede was appointed the Special Assistant to the Managing Director on Special Duties in 2024. He is happily married to Mrs. Ese Uyadonghan Powede and their marriage is blessed with beautiful children.
