Prof. Okaba made the disclosure after his exco met and engaged with other stakeholders of the Ijaw Nation, including the 45 aspirants vying for various positions in the INC NEC.
According to the INC President, who coordinated the engagement, said that the purpose is "part of our efforts to ensure a peaceful and credible election and transition to the next National Executive Council, on 17th March, 2026."
Okaba further disclosed that speeches made during the engagement "emphasized the need for aspirants to abreast themselves with the provisions of the INC Constitution, particularly on eligibility to contest, and the need for them to conduct themselves in ways that would not jeopardize the core mandate of the Ijaw National Congress, which is to unify Ijaw people at all times."
Highpoint of the stakeholders engagement was the practical demonstration of the electronic voting with those in attendance participating in the exercise.
