LEADERSHIP: Okerenkoko Youth Council gets new exco as Bebenimibo bows out in style

The coastal community of Okerenkoko Federated and host to the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has successfully inaugurated a new set of youth executive council members to pilot the affairs of the umbrella body of Okerenkoko Youths Council, OKYC, for another term of three years.
The swearing-in/inauguration ceremony held in the Okerenkoko Federated Community Town Hall with elders, women, youths and other invited guests in attendance, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
The newly sworn-in youth exco members are Comrade Stanley Adebayo (President), Stanley Sokoto (Vice President), Mike James Brubor (Secretary), Irawo Gold (Public Relations Officer), Tare Olaye (Financial Secretary), Perezide Bubor (Chief Auditor), Dolebiowei Tina Ebi (Treasurer), Stephen Williams (Organizer), Giniwa Godspower (Assistant Secretary), and Perede Emmanuel (Assistant Organizer).
The members of the outgone youth exco are Philemon Bebenimibo (President), Mr Ebibo Mene Lampard Governor (Vice President), Joshua Igbaki Igare (Secretary), Engr Tonbrapade Erebu (PRO), Mr Abobo Moses Ikiorkenegha (Treasurer), Mrs Rejoice Okito (Assistant Secretary), Peter Ikika (Financial Secretary), Mr Monday Robert (Chief Organizer), Mr Easu Sokoto (Assistant Organizer) and Mr Ernest Michael (Auditor).
The new exco, who were sworn in by Elisha Bebenimibo Esq., were charged by stakeholders in the community to put the interest of the community foremost while its members should work together as a team to collectively achieve the desired objectives of the youth body, among other counsels.
Among top dignitaries in attendance include the executive chairman of Okerenkoko Federated Community, Chief Mosco Johnny, Chief Simeon Bebenimibo (JP), Hon. Ebizi Sinwa (Councillor representing Okerenkoko Ward in Warri South-West LG Council), Mr. Andrew Bebenimibo, Evang. John Sokoto, among other sons and daughters of the community. Also in attendance are former Okerenkoko youth presidents and all youth presidents of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
In his brief address, Comr. Bebenimibo, who stole the ceremony with his suited outfit and in high spirits, thanked the community for their support during his tenure as president and appealed to the chairman, Chief Johnny, to have the youths in mind as the top leader of the community just like his predecessor, Hon. Shadrack Otuaro, did while in office.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected exco members, President Comrade Stanley Adebayo thanked the Pere of he kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II (JP), Aketekpe, Agadagba; the people of Okerenkoko for giving them the opportunity to serve, and other guests in attendance.
They also appealed for support from every stakeholders in the community to join hands with them while pledging to ensure that they live to the expectations of the youths and other stakeholders of Okerenkoko as youth leaders.
Other highpoints of the ceremony include the administering of oaths on the new exco by Elisha Bebenimibo Esq., the handing over of vital documents by the outgone President, Comr. Philemon Bebenimibo to the new President, Comr. Stanley Adebayo; entertainment and photograph session among other activities.
