OBITUARY: PENGlobal Brand Director loses grand mother, Madam Dour Akoto

Madam Dour Akoto, grandmother to the Brand Director of PENGlobal, Mr. Abai Francis, has joined her ancestors in the early hours of Monday evening on July 14, 2025.
Until her death, as an aged personality, she held the communal position of honour as The Ama-Okosu-ere of Kokodiagbene community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to PENGlobal Brand Director, the late Madam Akoto, who passed away at the age of 115 years, will be remembered as a gentle and peace loving woman who lived a quiet and humble life.
"It's a mixed feeling on hearing the sad news of her passing," said Mr. Abai, while reacting to his grandmother's passing to the great beyond.
"Whether she lived long or not, death is not an occurrence anyone would wish for. Again, death has robbed us of an expensive treasure we can never recover from the thief unless God intervenes.
"No doubt, we will celebrate her life, but it is hard to shake that feeling that we will not be seeing her anymore. It is now left of us, the family, to sustain and to build on her legacy," he added.

Also speaking, Mr. Ark Selegha, Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community, a relative of the family, recalled fond memories if the late grandmother whom he confessed will be greatly missed.
"Until her glorious home call to eternal rest, she is a peace loving and caring woman of our time. She named me Ogulaghawei when I was born, because I was born over there at Ogulagha Kingdom.
"We will greatly miss her soft and kind advices; she is always a peacemaker in the family and the community at large, Rest in peace Mama! Adieu!", Mr. Ark prayed.
Meanwhile, there are feelers that her remains will be laud to rest in no distant time after series of ongoing meetings have been concluded
