It was an emotional moment for parents of preterm babies and infants receiving medical care at the Central Hospital, Warri, Delta State, as the Raphael Biu Foundation offered financial assistance to parents struggling with the cost of treatment of their children.

The humanitarian intervention visit was led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Engr. Dr. Raphael Eniye Biu, FNSE, accompanied by officials and members of the Foundation on Monday, August 31, 2026.

What began as an unexpected visit soon turned into an emotional experience for some of the beneficiaries, particularly parents who had been confronted with the financial burden associated with the prolonged medical care of their preterm babies and infants.

During the visit, the Foundation settled outstanding medical bills of some of the children, with the total financial commitment reportedly running into more than N1 million.

Speaking on the gesture, Biu said the intervention was part of his commitment to giving back to society and supporting vulnerable families, particularly those facing difficult circumstances beyond their immediate financial capacity.

"It is important that individuals and organisations use their resources and positions to make meaningful impacts in the lives of others," the Founder stressed, noting that the Foundation's humanitarian activities are driven by a desire to bring relief and hope to people in need.

The intervention sparked emotional scenes at the hospital as some of the parents, overwhelmed by the unexpected assistance, expressed gratitude to Biu and the Foundation for coming to their aid at a critical period.

Some beneficiaries described the gesture as a major relief, saying the financial intervention had lifted a significant burden from their families while enabling them to concentrate on the recovery and wellbeing of their children.

Hospital personnel also expressed appreciation to the Foundation for the humanitarian initiative and its concern for the welfare of patients, especially families experiencing difficulties in meeting their medical obligations.

Prayers were offered by beneficiaries for Biu and members of his team, with the parents asking God to continue to strengthen and prosper them as they extend assistance to vulnerable members of society.

The intervention visit forms part of the philanthropic activities of the Raphael Biu Foundation, which is committed to touching lives through humanitarian interventions and support for the less privileged.
