STAKEHOLDERS’ SUMMIT: INC Western Zone Commends, Urges Support for Tantita

The executive leadership of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Western Zone, chaired by Barrister Priye Noel Kuete, has commended the foremost Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) for organizing a Community Critical Stakeholders’ Summit in Warri, Delta State, describing the event as "a remarkable effort toward fostering peace, security and unity across the Niger Delta region".

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the INC Western Zone, the Congress said the summit, which brought together key community representatives and opinion leaders from across the Niger Delta, demonstrated Tantita’s commitment to inclusive dialogue and regional stability.

Kuete commended Tantita for its outstanding achievements in security operations over the past few years, noting that the company has made a “profound difference” in addressing some of the region’s long-standing challenges.

“Tantita has achieved what many considered impossible — reducing insecurity across the Niger Delta communities, curbing oil pipeline vandalism and restoring confidence in the region’s economic potential,” Kuete said.

“The result is evident in the increased crude oil production, which has in turn boosted Nigeria’s economy. There’s visibly more revenue flowing into government coffers today because of Tantita’s interventions.”

He further noted that incidents of kidnapping, theft and sea piracy have drastically reduced in recent times, adding that “the fear of Tantita has become the beginning of wisdom across the Niger Delta.”

The INC Western Zone Chairman said the Ijaw people remain proud of Tantita’s management and field operatives for their sacrifices and commitment to regional peace. He called on governments at all levels, oil-bearing communities and other stakeholders to continue supporting the company in its mission to secure the Niger Delta, which he described as “the region that lays the golden egg.”

Kuete also cautioned against what he termed “ethnic politics” around Tantita’s operations, warning that such tendencies could undermine progress already made in the area of security.

“Security is not a tribal affair. It concerns everyone. We must all play positive roles in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our people,” he said.

While acknowledging Tantita’s role in creating job opportunities for hundreds of unemployed youths, Kuete urged multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta to take a cue from Tantita by meaningfully engaging host communities in their operations.

“When host communities are involved, peace is guaranteed. Tantita’s approach has shown that community participation is the key to sustainable security and development,” he added.

The INC Western Zone reiterated its full support for Tantita Security Services and urged all Niger Delta stakeholders to sustain the spirit of collaboration that promotes peace and prosperity in the region.
