The Delta State Councillors’ Forum, which comprises the 25 Legislative Leaders of the 25 Local Government Councils of Delta State, has pledged their support for the re-election of the State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, come 2027 general elections.

The pledge was made during a recent courtesy visit by the Forum, led by its Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ekpemupolo Idukedoumene Samuel, to the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Elder Omene Sobotie, and his dedicated working committee, at the APC State Secretariat in Asaba, the State capital.

Speaking on the visit, Ekpemupolo, who is the Leader in Warri South West Legislative Arm, revealed that "The visit provided an invaluable platform for meaningful dialogue and strategic engagement as we collectively chart the course for our party’s continued success in Delta State."

On behalf of other members, Ekpemupolo "reaffirmed" the Forum's "unwavering commitment to the ideals and objectives of the APC" while also "emphasizing the critical need for a stronger working relationship between the party leadership and grassroots legislators as we approach the 2027 political cycle."

During the course of the courtesy visit, the Forum unveiled its campaign and support plan for the coming years to the party chairman.

He said, "As a symbol of our dedication and solidarity, we presented to the State Chairman a branded face cap bearing the Delta State Councillors Forum logo, with the inspiring inscriptions 'Sheriff till 2031' and 'Tinubu till 2031', emblazoned on the sides.

"This gesture represents our firm support for our people-oriented Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria," he added.

Speaking further, the Chairman of the Forum promised that, "As we look ahead to 2027 and beyond, the Delta State Councillors Forum remains steadfast in its mission to mobilize support, deepen democratic values, and ensure that the dividends of good governance reach every corner of our beloved state," and added "Together, we are stronger. Together, we will deliver Delta State for APC."

In his response, the APC Chairman, Sobotie, assured them of the party’s continued support for the Delta State Councillors Forum and acknowledged the vital role they play in strengthening democracy and party structures at the grassroots level.

"His words of encouragement," according to the Forum's Chairman, "reinforce our resolve to remain committed foot soldiers of the APC in our respective local government areas."
