High Chief and Mrs Paris Imoun, who celebrated their 30th marriage anniversary on Sunday (July 6, 2025), has described marriage as an institution that consists of both "bitterness" and "sweetness", inferring that being in a marital relationship is not a bed of roses, but one that comes with challenges that only those that truly possessed the heart of love can overcome.

The handsome and beautiful couple began the celebration of their 30 years union with a Thanksgiving at the Chapel of Grace ministry by Lucky London Street after 2nd Boro Pit in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Thanksgiving ceremony, officiated by the presiding Pastor and Mrs  Ejovi Loyalty, was marked with dance and singing of praises by the couple as a way of expressing their gratitude to the Almighty God for keeping and bringing them this far.

Other major highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of testimonial by the couple, the offer of prayers on them by the minister and the congregation, and group photograph session.

Speaking to PENGlobal Social, the couple, who both hail from Gbaramatu Kingdom and Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, both in Warri South-West council area, as well as from Obotobo in Burutu LGA, revealed that it has been 30 years of mixture of bitterness and sweetness.

They said, "Being in a relationship for 30 years does not mean there are no disagreements or misunderstanding, but then, we have not resorted to violence at any point in time or take our issues to the public or external parties."

The couple, who are parents of two surviving children, further revealed that it is the grace of God that has kept them to this point in time, which necessitated them to celebrate and to thank God for the success recorded.

They urged married couples and those aspiring to settle down to always put God first in everything they do, and also to exhibit maturity as marriage is not for children or immatured people.

The marriage celebrants continued the celebration of three decades of togetherness at their residence where they hosted and entertained families, friends and other well-wishers that came to celebrate with them.
