BIOGRAPHY: A Sad Day as Late Mr Roland Mulade Goes Home to Rest In Benikrukru

It was a sad day for the Mulade Dynasty from Benikrukru Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West council area of Delta State, as family members were joined by other sympathisers as they conveyed home for burial the body of their son, brother, husband, uncle, father and grandfather, late Roland Mulade, from the Ame Specialist Hospital morgue at Okumagba Avenue in Warri, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The atmosphere at the final journey for the departed Mulade from the morgue to the Miller Waterfront near NPA and from thence to Benikrukru, venue of the burial ceremony, was one of soberness and deep reflections as families struggled to contain their emotions.

The brief Christian funeral service in Benikrukru featured Bible readings, singing of hymns, presentation of the biography of the deceased and testimonials, a brief exhortation, and prayers for the family, before the body of the 60-year-old late Roland Mulade was committed to Mother Earth.

According to the biography, Mr. Roland Mulade was born on 4 October 1965 at Benikrukru into the family of Elder Orighomisan Tebe-Ebi Mulade, Ekpe Quarters, Azama, and Nehi-Bralabor Quarters, Benikrukru; and Mrs. Kenuma Timibo of Omoun / Agbafa Quarters, Kurutie, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area Delta State, Nigeria.

Young Roland grew up in his native home, Benikrukru, and later moved to Benin River with his parents. Mr. Roland Mulade at his early age, having been raised by educationally conscious parents, knew the importance of education and never allowed any factor to hinder him from achieving his educational goals.

He started his education at Edonsa Primary School from 1974–1980, where he completed his First School Living Certificate. Subsequently, he was admitted to Ginuwa Grammar School, Gbokoda, from 1980–1985, where he obtained his West African School Certificate. He also attended Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) from 1998–1999, where he obtained Certificate in Welding and Fabrication.

After his secondary education, he was engaged in fishing activity as a means of livelihood and later got employed in several oil servicing companies in Chevron Field at Abiteye, and at the Escravos Gas-To-Liquid project in Escravos, Delta State. Until his unfortunate demise, he was a staff of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a community leader, a devout Christian, member of several sociocultural organizations, and an executive member of the Welders and Fitters Association at its local chapter.

He got married to Mrs. Josephine Tuoyo of Tebu, Benin River, with whom he had four children, where he lost three at infancy, leaving behind Morrison, the eldest, a Sapele based businessman and a father of two—Timipre Mulade and Tobolayefa Molade. He later got separated from Josephine and got married to late Mrs. Esther Roland Mulade and had four daughters before she eventually passed on, on the 23 November 2017.

Late Mr. Roland Mulade is survived by five children—Morrison Mulade, Gloria Mulade, Flora Mulade, Mary Mulade, and Princess Mulade; a brother—Dr. Alfred Mulade, former Registrar of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU); two sisters—Victoria Keke Mulade and Betty Ukulor; two grandchildren—Timipre Mulade and Tobolayefa Mulade; several cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunties, colleagues, and well-wishers.

Until his untimely departure to glory, he was a jolly good fellow, community leader, a philanthropist, building good relationships, and drawing people close to himself. He will be remembered for his kindness and selfishness. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.
