EDUCATION: Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation distributes learning materials to pupils in Okpe, Sapele
The Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) led by its Founder, Dcn. Ernest Bebenimibo, Ph.D, has distributed school bags, books and writing materials to pupils at Evwreke Primary School in Ugolo, Okpe Local Government Area, and Okokporo Primary School in Okegborode, Sapele LGA, as part of its Street 2 School Legacy Project initiative.
The outreach, which is the second phase of the initiative, aims to encourage school enrolment and retention, reduce the number of out-of-school children and provide learning materials to pupils in underserved communities.
According to the EBF Founder, while speaking on the purpose of the initiative said, “We are not sent by any politician. We are here because we believe every child deserves to be in school,” he said, urging the pupils to remain focused on their education, to avoid distractions, to value themselves and take their education seriously.
The Foundation’s Director General, Mrs. Joan, in a motivational message told pupils they could succeed regardless of where they came from, urging them to prioritise schooling over farm work.

Parents and guardians were urged to support their children’s education, especially as education will help them contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and society at large.
At Evwreke Primary School, the Foundation presented more than 100 bags, books and writing materials to pupils across various classes, while more than 130 bags, books and writing materials were distributed at Okokporo. In all, the Foundation disclosed that more than 500 pupils from the two schools benefited from the outreach.
The Foundation also presented each school's management with a commemorative plaque and gave gifts to teachers in recognition of their dedication.
It further disclosed that the second phase of the project, which began this term, had reached communities in riverine and hinterland areas, with further school visits planned in the weeks ahead.
In their responses, the head teachers, speaking on behalf of the staff and pupils, thanked the Foundation for its support, noting that such initiative will go a long way to motivate pupils and teachers.

Parents, teachers and community leaders also commended the Foundation for the initiative, describing it as timely amid the difficulties many families face in providing basic learning materials.
In another development, while I'mreturning back from the outreach, the EBF team also gave books, school bags, pencils and biros to pupils they met walking home from school.
The Street 2 School Legacy Project is anchored on the Foundation’s mission of “Reaching Communities to Build Hope and Empower Lives.”
