FUNERAL/BIOGRAPHY: Sad Goodbyes as Families, Friends Bid Farewell to Late Mrs. Doris Yin-Ebimone Imoun Nee Akiefa
Humanity is once again reminded that life without Jesus Christ is vanity, a message echoed at the funeral service of 51 year old late Mrs. Doris Yin-Ebimone Imoun (Nee Akeifa), who was laid to eternal rest in her hometown, Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, after families, friends, and other sympathisers sadly bid eternal farewell to the mother of two children and three grandchildren, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The final journey of late Mrs. Doris Yin-Ebimone Imoun, wife of the Sukorewei of ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and noble son of Benikrukru Community, Chief Paris Imoun, began in the morning from the Safe Haven Mortuary, Okumagba Layout, in a motorcade to her quarter, Ikiandumu, Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, where a Christian funeral service was conducted by the Chapel of Grace Ministries Int'l church, officiated by Pastor Ejovi Loyalty.
According to the biography of the deceased, the late Mrs. Doris Imoun was born in Ogbe-ljoh into the families of late Pa Michael Akeifa and Mama Asineke Akeifa of Obotebe Community in Amaware and Asaware Quarters, Burutu L.G.A, and Ikiandumu, Perebiri and Aroutenghanbiri Quarters of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South-West L.G.A, both of Delta State.
She attended Ewein Primary School Ogbe-ljoh, and Aladja Primary School, Aladja from 1981 to 1987 where she obtained her first school leaving certificate and had her Secondary Education at Ogbe-ljoh Grammar School OgbeIjoh, from 1988 to 1994, where she obtained her secondary school leaving certificate.
In 1995, she found the love of her life, Chief Paris Imoun, and they got married same year. Their marriage was full of love and commitment towards each other and went through the thick and thin to become an admired couple. While in marriage, she was known as a very respectful and submissive wife to her husband and his family, and she served and honoured them as much as her husband and was beloved by her husband's family and the entire Benikrukru Community. The couple marked their 30th marriage anniversary on Sunday, July 6, 2025, which attracted lots of guest and family members. Little did they know it will be the last marriage anniversary they will celebrate together as a couple.
The late Mrs. Doris Imoun is described as a very social personality, who is so loving to be with, always taking active part in women's affairs in her husband's community, Benikrukru, and has held key positions amongst Women in Gbazor Quarters and Benikrukru Community at large.
She remained a committed Christian all through her life. On her relocation to Warri with her family she became a member of the Chapel of Grace Ministries Int'l Osubi where she devotedly served God until her sudden demise on March 4, 2026. She is survived by her husband, two children: Miss Endurance Ebimor Imoun and Chief Gift Perelade Imoun; and three grandchildren: Tamara Ebikemiende Paris, Ebilade Owen Paris, and Tamara Doubra (Jnr. Doris Paris).
As families, friends, and sympathisers departed to their various domains, all that is now left of the late Mrs. Doris Imoun is her legacy, buttressing a fact that we will all be remembered not by the status we hold in society, but by the contributions we made to make life better than we met it. Adieu Mrs. Doris Imoun. Rest peacefully in the Bosom of the Lord until Resurrection Day.
