IGOBA: Bobo to operate an open-door policy, unveils strategic plan with support from stakeholders
The newly-inaugurated executive chairman of Igoba Federated Community in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief (Hon.) Friday Bobo, has promised to operate an open-door policy and to consult regularly with elders and stakeholders towards fostering harmony in order for meaningful development to thrive in the creek community.
Chief Bobo made the promise in his acceptance speech at the swearing-in and inauguration ceremony of the six-member newly selected exco in the community playground on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The former Councillor also promised to swing into action on assuming office while expressing his determination to build on the legacy of his predecessors.

He said, "We are stepping in to rule as servant leaders with the promise to eat the ground running because we are fully prepared to render the best of our unalloyed services in the Igoba Community's developmental strides.
"We shall pick up from where the previous administration left off, ensuring that the legacy projects that improve our living standard continue without interruption," he added in his address.
On the infrastructural development agenda of his led-exco, he unveiled that the exco will prioritise focus on health, education, roads, and electricity supply, but with support from eminent leaders in the community and the kingdom.

"Firstly, on our development agenda, we shall prioritise the Igoba Oporoza earth road construction that will be later transformed into a standard modern road, and then the community internal roads with drainages will follow.
"We shall further approach all necessary authorities and stakeholders to improve power supply in our community, especially the already approved gas turbine project in the Kingdom, to also get to us.
"Our administration shall prioritize health, ensuring that there is a functional mini-health centre within the Igoba Community. While in education we shall put on measures to provide basic educational materials such as textbooks, notebooks and other reading aids annually.
"Although as a non-oil producing community, we might not have the opportunities of accessing the oil nationals offices in Asaba and Abuja, our state and federal capital respectively for development strides, but optimistically we are having the opportunity to access our amiable leaders in the likes of High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, High Chief (Engr.) Kesti Pondi, FNSE, MD Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Hon.) Anthony Ayebibode, Rt Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, High Chief Dennis Otuaro (Ph.D), Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) etc. And above all, we are also having our highly revered Royal Father, HRM Pere Oboro Gbaraun II, JP, most regarded as the monarch of the Niger Delta, whose doors are always open and accessible," he added.

The Igoba chairman who is the Ebi-Ibananawei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, further charged all stakeholders to "embrace peace and dialogue as the primary means of resolving issues when the need arises" noting that "no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of chaos.
"We therefore urge all sons and daughters of the Igoba and Gbaramatu Kingdom to join hands together to enable us to build and develop our beloved community. We shall operate an open-door policy, consulting regularly with our elders and stakeholders to foster harmony. Conclusively, the task ahead is heavy, but with your support, cooperation, and by the grace of God, we will succeed. We promise not to fail," he pledged.
Among prominent guests in attendance include the chairman of Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), Chief (Barr.) Bosin Ebikeme, Chief (Engr.) Isaiah Ukulor, JP; Chief Miebi Aske, Chief James Tangbowei, JP, among others.
Other exco members sworn-in and inaugurated alongside the Chairman are Mr. Wilson Ayeibo (Vice Chairman), Mr. Clement Ejoh (Secretary), Mr. Epere Ebitorofa (Public Relations Officer), Mr. Ebimiewei Matthew Tamaratuemi (Financial Secretary), and Mr. Bright Avene Dude (Treasurer).
Major highlights of the ceremony are the administering of oath of office to the exco members, presentation of note books and other learning aids to pupils of Daugeregha Primary School, Igoba; and the voluntarily contribution of money to two new born babies (male and female) whose significant birth coincides with the inauguration ceremony, earning the male child nicknamed Chairman, and the female, Chairlady.
