As the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) 7th Mega Elective Convention inches closer, an aspirant, Comrade Guade Moses Daniel, has declared for the position of Director of Sports in the umbrella body of students in the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, appealing for support in the forthcoming convention.

According to the aspirant, who is a 300 Level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, his desire to contest for Director of Sports is driven by his passion for sports and his vision to help students harness their talents productively.

Speaking on his vision for NAGS if elected as the Director of Sports, he revealed that through sports he will ensure unity and healthy living is sustained while creating opportunities for students to excel.

"My vision is to transform NAGS Sports into a platform that promotes unity, discovers talents, encourages healthy living and creates opportunities for Gbaramatu students to excel in sports at local, national and international levels," he said.

He further reiterated his commitment that, "As Director of Sports, I pledge to serve with integrity, accountability, inclusiveness and dedication."

Comrade Guade also promised to run an open door policy to make the Director of Sports office more productive.

"I will remain accessible to students, listen to your ideas and work collectively to build a sports department that every Gbaramatu student can be proud of," he pledged.

Comrade Guade therefore called on fellow students to give him their maximum support, with an appeal that his success will be a victory for the NAGS.  

"I appeal to my fellow students in NAGS to rally behind my aspiration and give me the needed support to take the Association to the next level in collaboration with other elective members, because together nothing will be impossible to achieve."

The NAGS 7th Mega Elective Convention, according to its Convention Planning Committee (CPC) led by its Chairman, Comrade Ubebe Brakoru Kester Denyefa, will hold from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, July 26, 2026, and from which a new executive of the student body will emerge.
