NAGS ELECTION: Timigbeha Victoria Declares for Welfare Director, Unveils Student-Centred Agenda

Miss Timigbeha Victoria Tamaraemi has declared her interest for the office of Director of Welfare of the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) as well as unveiled her campaign manifesto, with a pledge to prioritize the welfare and well-being of Gbaramatu students.

Timigbeha, a mass communication student of the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, in her campaign poster appealed to members of the association to vote for her, emphasizing that "Welfare is Our Priority" and promising to pursue policies that will directly improve the lives of students.

She outlined several key areas of focus, including student support, health and well-being, financial assistance, accommodation support, food security, mental health awareness, emergency assistance, skill development and empowerment, recreation, and the promotion of a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The welfare aspirant also pledged to place students' interests at the centre of every decision, ensure access to quality healthcare and counselling services, facilitate financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and work closely with the association's executive to deliver responsive welfare services.

Timigbeha further promised to listen to students, represent their concerns effectively, and act on their needs, stressing that inclusive leadership and collaboration would be the hallmark of her administration.

Calling for unity among members of the association, she urged students to support her candidacy with the slogan, "Together We Can Do More! In Unity We Progress," while highlighting her vision of building better welfare, a stronger student community, and a student-first administration.

The NAGS is expected to conduct its 7th Mega Elective Convention, an event that will also witness the election of a new set of executive leadership to pilot the affairs of the student body.

The Convention is scheduled to hold in Kokodiagbene Community from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, July 26, 2026, with the theme “Culture and Identity: Preserving the Heritage, Values and Legacy of Our People.”
