BAYELSA: Tariere Gita resigns from PDP, expresses gratitude

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture in Bayelsa State, Tari-ere Gita Esq., has officially resigned her membership from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as contained in a Resignation Letter dated 16th October 2025.
The letter, as seen by PENGlobal, was addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ekeremor Ward 1, Ekeremor Local Government Area (Ekelga) of the state.
The official resignation which held in Isampou Community Town Hall, the country home of the Ward Chairman, Hon. Lucky Gavis, was witnessed by ward and community leaders, women and youths.
According to Gita Esq. who appreciated the PDP for the opportunity to serve the State, said her decision to resign from the main opposition party is purely a matter of personal conviction and not a show of ingratitude.

Part of the letter reads:
"I rise to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from today, the 16th day of October 2025.
"This decision comes after due reflection and consultation with my family, associates, and supporters. I wish to sincerely appreciate the party for the platform it has provided me over the years to contribute to the development of our state and the advancement of our democracy.
"My resignation from the PDP is purely a matter of personal conviction and should not be construed as an act of ingratitude or disloyalty to the party.
"Please accept the assurances of my highest regards and best wishes to the party and its leadership at all levels."
Meanwhile the S.A. to the Governor on Agriculture did not disclose the political party on which she will be furthering her career having resigned from the PDP.
