SERVICE OF SONGS: 'Your Reward is Eternal' and other Eulogising Tributes in Honour of Late Dcns. Gladys Karawei
In their numbers, friends and sympathisers joined the families of late Deaconess Gladys Karawei, in her husband's residence at Usiefrun, Udu local government area of Delta State, to honour the 65 year old mother and grandmother whose Service of Songs ceremony held on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The Service of Songs ceremony conducted in honour of the deceased by the Royal Power Bible Ministry Int'l, and observed with praise and worship, singing of hymns, reading of Bible lessons, a brief sermon, presentation of biography, and testimonials from family, church members and friends among other activities.

Late Dcns. Karawei, a mother of six children and a grandmother to 15 grandchildren, was described by her children who referred to her as a "spiritual mother" as caring, loving, dependable, cheerful, counselor, among other virtues possessed by a godly mother.
"Mom was truly the heart and soul of our family, a constant source of life, love wisdom and encouragement. I can still feel the warmth of your hugs and hear your comforting words, even now," said Elayifa, a son, in his tribute, while her last born, Tamaraetunweimi, noted, "It was truly a privilege to be your daughter and it brings me great joy knowing I had a chance to show you how much I loved you while you were here. You deserved every bit of it and more."
For one of her daughters, Tamarataremi Uwakwe, in gratitude confessed, "I am internally grateful for your conditional love and support you gave me. Your words of encouragement will always be remembered. Losing you has left a wound in our hearts, but your beautiful personalities inspires us to carry on your Spirit."
A member of her church, Dcns. (Mrs.) Blessing Ewa Henshaw, speaking on behalf of other church members in her tribute, praised the deceased whose life she said should be emulated, assuring all that the late Dcns. Karawei is resting with her Creator.
"Our Deaconess was more than a title, she embodied service. She served with humility, with strength, and with a quiet grace that touched everyone around her. Her hands were always ready to help, her voice always ready to encourage, and her heart always open to love.
"Today as we bid her farewell, we take comfort in knowing that she has gone to rest in the arms of her Maker. Though we mourn departure, we rejoice because Heaven has gained a precious soul, and your memory will remain forever in our hearts.
"To her family, we pray that God will strengthen you and surround you with His peace. To us, her church family, let her life continue to inspire us to serve wholeheartedly and to remain faithful until we also receive our crown of glory," she urged everyone, and then added, "Rest in perfect peace faithful servant of God. Your work on Earth is done and your reward is eternal."

Highlights of the ceremony include the offer of prayers for the children and family members of the late Dcns. Karawei, and entertainment of guests in attendance.
The late Dcns. Karawei, a native of Oporoza, Azama, and Benikrukru communities, all in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West LGA, transited to eternal Glory on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and will be laid to rest in Oporoza, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
